Green Cleaning

Since we opened our doors in 2005, we have been using eco-friendly cleaning techniques like wetcleaning and CO2, and we are now preparing to install the newest green technology, SYSTEMK4.  SK4 is an environmentally-friendly mix of bio-degradable cleaning solution, technology and environmentally-friendly cleaning agents that cleans better than traditional solvents and other green solvents on the market today.

We are proud to be the first dry cleaner in the Capital Region to install cutting edge technologies that are helping to minimize our carbon footprint and increase efficiency.  In 2011, Best Cleaners undertook a large energy project during which:

• Boilers were modernized with control systems that continually monitor and adjust to create the highest burn efficiency;
• Water heaters were eliminated by converting to heat exchangers that recover and reuse machinery exhaust to heat our water; and
• All lighting was converted to environmentally-friendly fixtures, including signage and internal lighting, which included the retrofitting of ballast, bulbs, and fixtures.

When installation of SK4 is completed, we expect to save an additional 75 percent of our steam and boiler energy, and decrease our waste output by about 75 percent.

Hanger Recycling

We’d like to thank you for helping us make our hanger recycling program a growing success! The program has grown by about 50 percent per year, and last year, fully 20 percent of the hangers we used were reused.  Ask us if you need a recycling box - you can pick them up or drop them off whenever necessary.  Route clients call us and we’ll pick up and drop off for you.
